HammerFall Online Slot By Play’n GO

HammerFall is a heavy metal video slot from Play’n GO, themed after the Swedish band of the same name. It is played on a 7×7 grid where clusters of 5 or more symbols win, with a theoretical RTP of 96.20% and cascading reels, Lightning Wilds and a Hammer Meter that unleashes the band’s songs.

Play’n GO has turned the band’s album covers and songs into something playable. Here is how the game looks, what the symbols do and how the features work.

HammerFall Slot Specs

RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure, so it says nothing certain about any single session. Read what RTP means for more.

Heavy Metal Theme, Music and Animation

Picture a HammerFall album cover: an armoured knight with a huge shield in one hand and a massive hammer in the other. The background is a hazy red with mountains in the distance, and a stone structure sits to the right of the grid where the knight stands guard over the reels.

The game plays several of the band’s most popular songs. Symbols spring to life on winning spins, the knight moves around and the reels cascade smoothly, which brings the whole thing together.

HammerFall Symbols and Wilds

The low-paying icons are gems and rocks in different colours, so they are easy to tell apart. The higher-paying symbols are icons the band is known for, such as hammers, crescent moons and suns.

Wilds and Lightning Wilds substitute for any other icon to help build winning combinations. Lightning Wilds carry a random multiplier of up to x3.

Cascades, Super Tiles and the Hammer Meter

Winning cascades remove the winning symbols so new ones can fall in, and this repeats until no new win is made.

Tiles can be highlighted at random to become Super Tiles. A win involving a Super Tile creates a Lightning Wild: the winning symbols are removed except the Lightning Wild, and new symbols fill their place.

Each win charges the Hammer Meter. It takes 25 winning symbols to fully charge it, and a full meter activates the song of the world you are in. There are three songs:

• Twilight Princess: adds a 2×2 mega wild to the grid.
• Second To None: transforms all high-paying symbols into matching symbols.
• And Yet I Smile: destroys all the low-paying icons on the grid.

If the meter is charged a second time, it triggers the Hammer High feature, a bonus round that awards all three songs in succession.

Destruction Features

On a random non-winning cascade, one of four Destruction features may trigger:

• Never Forgive, Never Forgive: picks one symbol at random and pulls in any matching symbols, destroying the icons in their path.
• Bring It: selects all high-paying symbols and either destroys them or transforms them into matching symbols.
• One Against The World: chooses a symbol at random, and all symbols next to matching symbols are destroyed or transformed into that symbol.
• Chain Of Command: creates a chain of symbols on the grid that are destroyed or transformed into matching symbols.

Verdict

HammerFall is a well-presented cluster slot for rock and metal fans. The song-based Hammer Meter and the Destruction features give it more variety than most cascade games, and the 96.20% theoretical RTP is a solid figure. Come and rock out with HammerFall and Play’n GO.
