The Shimmering Woods Specs

RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure, not a promise for any single session. Read more in our guide to what RTP means.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

The game is set in a mysterious forest where mushrooms and crystals glow with an unknown energy. The central idea is gems and precious stones with powers that let them split in half, doubling their value.

The play grid sits in the centre of a cave. Its borders are made of strange pink wood that twists at the tips into crystals. The reels cascade like waterfalls, moving smoothly from position to position, and winning combinations simply sparkle.

The music is upbeat, which sits slightly at odds with the relaxed look of the game, and you can mute it if you prefer. The sound effects make it clear when something worth your attention has happened.

Symbols and Paytable Basics

The lower-paying icons are the playing card values 10, J, Q, K and A. The higher-paying symbols are various gems and crystals.

The Wild can substitute for any other common icon, which helps you build winning combinations. The Scatter can only appear on reels 1, 3 and 5, and landing three of them in a single spin activates the bonus gameplay.

Ways to Win and Cascading Reels

The Shimmering Woods is a cascading slot. When a winning combination lands, the winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall into their place. Each time this happens the multiplier increases, and it resets before every new spin.

The game starts with 243 ways to win, and this can increase to 7,776 as the game progresses.

Splitting Symbols and Bonus Spins

Landing 3 Scatters triggers the bonus spins. Before that happens, between 0 and 3 of those Scatters are randomly selected to split in half, which can create up to 6 Scatters.

• 3 Scatters award 10 bonus spins and 1 extra splitting symbol.
• 6 Scatters award 19 bonus spins and 4 extra splitting symbols.

At the start of each bonus spin, random symbols are selected as splitting symbols. When one lands, it splits in two. Bonus spins can be retriggered, but only 10 extra splitting symbols can be active at a time.

Our Verdict

The Shimmering Woods suits players who like a relaxed pace and a calm, glowing look. The splitting symbols in the bonus spins are the main draw, and the ways can grow as cascades build up.
