Mad Scientist Breaking Beakers Hold & Win – Online Slot by BetSoft

Mad Scientist: Breaking Beakers – Hold & Win is a high-volatility Hold & Win slot from BetSoft with a 5×4 grid and a theoretical RTP of 96.24%. Expanding Wilds and Locked Mystery Symbols drive the base game, while three special beaker types add twists to the bonus round.

Mad Scientist: Breaking Beakers Specs

RTP is a theoretical long-run figure, not a promise for any single session; here is how RTP works.

A Cartoon Lab That Doesn’t Take Itself Too Seriously

The game drops you into the colourful, slightly unhinged world of Dr. Walter Prescott, a lab-loving scientist who seems more into beaker-breaking than actual experiments.

The design is light-hearted and playful, full of glowing liquids, bubbly animations and a dose of cartoon chaos. It is clean and polished rather than ground-breaking, and the smooth animations support the over-the-top science theme without getting overwhelming.

Base Game, Wilds and Paytable Mechanics

Gameplay is set on a 5×4 grid with 10 fixed paylines. With high volatility, wins don’t come constantly, but when they do they can hit hard. The 19.98% hit rate reflects that pacing, so patience helps.

Two base-game mechanics stand out:

• Locked Mystery Symbols appear before each spin, then flip into matching symbols once the reels stop. A bunch of these at once can turn a round around.
• Expanding Wilds cover entire reels to help land winning lines when things are quiet.

Hold & Win Bonus and Special Beakers

The big feature is the Hold & Win Bonus, which starts when you land six or more Beaker symbols. You get three respins to begin with, and the goal is to keep landing more beakers to keep the round going. Each time you clear a row, your respins reset, so momentum can build quickly.

Three special beakers can shake things up:

• ALL Beaker: collects the value of every other beaker on the screen.
• CROSS Beaker: grabs values from its entire row and column.
• EXTRA Beaker: boosts the value of neighbouring beakers.

These extras make the bonus round more interactive and give you a few more ways to build a decent win.

Worth a Spin for Bonus Fans

If you like Hold & Win games but want something with a bit more personality, this is a solid pick. The beaker modifiers and base-game features help it stand out from similar titles. Casual players may be drawn in by the goofy theme, while experienced players should appreciate the added bonus mechanics. Just be ready for the ups and downs of high-volatility games.
