Loading into this title is a sheer test of will, seeing all of the delicious-looking sweets is almost torture. If you have a bag of them nearby you’ll probably be tempted to grab some. The graphics of this game are amazing. Every little detail will have you licking your lips and reaching out toward the screen.
The audio is laid back and relaxed, you won’t feel like you’re in any rush to get things done. Sound effects are prominent but also won’t overpower the music and audio of the rest of the title. Soon you’ll be calling events as they occur simply by the sounds that they make.
Animations are an area of this game that’s lacking somewhat. There are no background movements to be seen, the backdrop is simply static. In-game, the reels look like they lag whenever a drop is in progress which can be incredibly distracting. If it’s something that you can overlook then it should affect the way you play at all.
BetSoft put a lot of effort into making this title irresistible, even to those that don’t particularly like sweets that much. There are obvious areas that need improvement which we hope will be addressed in future slot releases by BetSoft.
Gumballs & Suckers
There are a few symbols that will have your stomach growling while playing this title. Most of them belong to the common paytable while some are actually special symbols which will boost your gameplay experience should they appear.
Starting off, we’ll go through the common paying icons. All seven are represented by different sweets. These sound like glass when they land and should they shatter upon landing a win. These are what you’ll be using to build winning combinations.
There are ten special candies that can land on the reels depending on what level you’re currently on. We’ll cover these in the next section.
Sugar Pop Gum Drops
In this online slot, you’ll be playing on a 5×5 grid. On this grid, your symbols will fall and you’ll try to build winning combinations. A winning combo consists of at least 3 matching symbols connected either horizontally or vertically.
Bets are able to range from 50.00 – 250.00 while coins can go from 0.01 – 1.00.
The RTP is high at 97.60%, but the volatility is also quite high.
Secret Sweets
Each time a winning combination appears on the grid, the winning symbols will disappear creating room for new icons to fall into place. These cascades will continue until no new wins can be made. Landing a win containing 4 symbols will result in a symbol remaining behind with a 2x multiplier. A win made up of 5 or more symbols will leave behind a bomb which will explode when it is part of a win.
There are 10 features which can trigger depending on the level you’re currently on:
- Level 1:Lollipop Candy – Whenever this appears on the grid, the symbols currently on the grid will rotate around a few times before stopping. If any wins are formed cascades will begin.
- Level 2: Caramel Chew – When this appears on the grid it will pick a direction. From where it landed it will move along its direction and pop any symbols in its path.
- Level 4: White Chocolate – Should this appear on the reels, it will destroy symbols allowing new ones to fall in.
- Level 6: Gumdrop – This will remove symbols in a different way.
- Level 8: Jawbreaker – Should this roll onto the grid, it will destroy 4 – 6 random symbols.
- Level 10: Candy Cane – This sweet will destroy all symbols sharing the same row and reel.
- Level 12: Jelly Beans – These will explode and remove up to 3 random symbols.
- Level 15: Chocolate Square – When this appears it will create a 3×3 border. Everything inside the border will be destroyed.
- Level 20: Cotton Candy – A whirlwind of cotton candy will sweep across the grid and knock off random symbols resulting in a win.
- Level 21+: Peanut Butter Cup – When this activates, it will transform random symbols into the same uniform symbol and make them sticky so they remain on the grid after a win.
Each level will have a pattern hidden underneath the grid and displayed on the left-hand side. Land wins in that pattern to proceed to the next level.
