Our hero with horns is back! After chasing the matador through the streets of Spain they now find themselves in Egypt? Theme & Symbols
If you’ve played a Wild Toro game before, imagine exactly that except with an ancient Egyptian filter over it. If you haven’t played one of the games in the series before then you’re in for a wild ride. Our hero, Toro, is a world-famous bull known for defeating his arch-rival, Diaz Jr. the matador. They’ve had some whacky adventures but now they need to band together to save the world!
The game takes place within an ancient Egyptian temple, there are markings and carvings all along the immaculate stone pillars that hold up the rest of the construction. Golden jars and coins are scattered throughout this entire area, meaning we must be pretty deep into the pyramid. A sarcophagus sits in the left-hand corner confirming that we are indeed deep inside.
The grid is beautiful yet simple. It does what it’s supposed to and it does it well. An argument could be made that there isn’t enough spacing between the icons so it looks a little clustered but honestly, it’s fine.
The music is interesting, they’ve stuck with the traditional Spanish music but given it a horror like twist which is fitting and incredibly charming as well. Animations are smooth meaning that nothing pulls you out of your gaming experience.
Overall, ELK Studios has done a great job refreshing the Toro series. They took a risk changing up the scenario as much as they did but it paid off.
Symbols
We’ll begin with the low-paying icons first. These are all represented by playing card values except with an Egyptian jewel makeover. You should expect to see 10, J, Q, K and A appear quite often throughout your time with the game.
Next, we’ll have a look at the high-paying symbols. These are all represented by the Egyptian classics with one symbol standing out. You should keep an eye out for a Scarab Beetle, an Eagle, a Wadjet Eye and Diaz Jr. all dressed up in his explorer’s outfit.
