The Parthenon was a proud and magnificent temple dedicated to Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. Zeus also makes an appearance at this temple yet he isn’t as revered as she is. The Parthenon has been reconstructed by NetEntertainment in this video slot game of theirs.

If you’re able to reach out and prove yourself to Athena and ask for her blessings then you might hit it big on the reels and walk away with some pretty significant wins. Though you should prepare before you do because the beasts of Greek mythology are on the prowl and they’re looking for their next weary traveller.

Join us as we dive deep into this video slot title, we’ll take a look at every aspect of the game so you know exactly what you’re getting into.

Theme & Symbols

If you’re picturing an ancient Greek and mythological setting for this title then you would be pretty accurate. It follows in the footsteps of similar games that have come before it.

The first thing you’ll notice when you load into this title is the background. You stand in the mighty Parthenon, statues of Zeus to the left and statues of Athena to the right. Brilliant stone columns rise up from either side to give the temple its structure. You’re high up enough that you can touch the clouds that sit in the clear blue sky. Off in the distance stands Mount Olympus, watching over all of Greece.

The grid is beautifully constructed, stone carvings and sculpting give the grid its shape and its design. You’ll notice 4 extra tiles sitting above the reels in the centre. On the left is a Wild symbol and on the right is a multiplier. These will all come into play a little later.

Animations are a little lackluster. The background is static which pulls you out of the immersion somewhat but it’s by no means a deal breaker. Symbols animate on winning spins and the reels move without any issue.

Music is fitting if not a little dull and the sound effects do what they set out to do. Together they add to the overall experience.

In all, NetEnt could’ve done a better job with the presentation of this title but it’s by no means bad, it’s still a stunning looking game.

Symbols

Playing card values represent this game’s low-paying icons. Throughout the game you’ll be seeing 10, J, Q, K and A appear on the reels quite often.

The high-paying symbols are the ones you’ll want to keep an eye out for. They are represented by a Trident, a Snake, a Pegasus, a Warship and a Gorgon.

There is a fiery Wild symbol that has the ability to substitute for any other common icon in the game. Use this to build bigger and better winning combos.

The ‘Free Spins’ symbol is this game’s Scatter. Landing enough of these during a single spin will trigger a bonus gameplay feature.

Online Betting Options & Features

Parthenon: Quest For Immortality is a 6-reel video slot game that has cascading features, developed by NetEnt. Wins are based on adjacent symbols and the RTP hovers around 96.03%.

Features

After each winning spin the winning symbols are removed and new icons fall in to take their place. This can continue until no new win can be made.

The 4 tiles above the grid is known as the Wild Generation Zone. The symbols in those tiles change on each spin and any win involving those displayed symbols are turned into Wilds that remain on the reels during the cascade.

3 Scatters landing during a single spin will award you with 8 bonus spins. An additional 4 bonus spins are awarded for any Scatter that triggers bonus symbols beyond the initial 3. During the bonus spins, every 3 Scatters that land will increase the bonus spin total by 2.

There is a multiplier bonus that is applied to the bet ways during bonus spins. It starts off at x1 but can climb as high as x20 with each symbol transformed into a Wild using the Wild Generation Zone feature.
