Gold Rush With Johnny Cash is a mining-themed video slot from BGaming with 5 reels, 3 rows, 25 fixed paylines and a theoretical RTP of 96%. Johnny, a cactus in a big hat, is the wild, and bonus spins and a Gold Re-spin feature offer a maximum win of 5,820x the bet.

Gold Rush With Johnny Cash Slot Specs

RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure that says nothing certain about a single session. For more, read what RTP means. To understand the high rating, see our introduction to slot variance.

Theme and Presentation: An Arid Mine

Johnny Cash is not quite as you remember him. Instead of singing Folsom Prison Blues, he is mining with pickaxes and dynamite, and he is a cactus with a long moustache. The setting is a harsh desert under an intense sun, with cacti as the only plant life.

The base game has no background animation, though a few gold nuggets sparkle in the background during the bonus game. The audio is good: wind sounds when the game is idle and a catchy tune while the reels spin, with solid sound and anticipation effects.

Symbols and Paytable

The low-paying symbols are the card values J, Q, K and A, which all pay the same. The high-paying symbols are mining gear: a pickaxe, a lantern, a sack of gold and a minecart of gold, which is the most valuable.

• Johnny is the wild and substitutes for all other common symbols.
• The T.N.T. plunger is the scatter. Three on reels 1, 3 and 5 trigger the bonus spins.
• A gold nugget is the coin symbol. Six or more in one spin trigger the Gold Re-spin.
• A green emerald nugget appears only during the Gold Re-spin and collects the values of all visible gold nuggets.
• Sticks of dynamite are the plus symbol, also only in the Gold Re-spin. One adds an extra re-spin.

Bonus Spins and Gold Re-spin

Landing 3 scatters awards 10 bonus spins. If 3 more scatters land during a bonus spin, 10 more spins are added. Low-paying symbols do not land during the bonus spins.

Six or more gold nuggets activate the Gold Re-spin. Gold nuggets, emerald nuggets, sticks of dynamite and blank spaces can land. Nuggets carry values of 2x to 20x, but they are only collected when an emerald nugget lands. If 15 gold nuggets fill the grid, the jackpot is won.
