Carnival City is a circus-themed casino and entertainment resort in Brakpan, in Ekurhuleni, eastern Gauteng, run by Sun International. It has a large casino housed in “big top” tents, a 4-star hotel, the Big Top Arena, restaurants and bars, and family attractions. The casino is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Carnival City is built around a carnival theme. The main casino sits in stylised large “big top” circus tents, decorated with roller-coaster models, clown murals and colourful lights.

The complex has a large casino, a hotel, a wide variety of restaurants and bars, and the Big Top Arena, a large arena that hosts major concerts, big sporting events and international boxing bouts. Carnival City Casino: Tables, Slots and Gaming Areas

The casino offers well over a thousand slot machines and dozens of gaming tables, including blackjack, American roulette and Lunar Poker. There are both smoking and non-smoking areas.

Club Privé is a gaming area for high rollers, offering privacy and a variety of slot machines, blackjack and roulette tables with high denominations.

ATMs and cash desks with banking services are located in the complex.

The Big Top Arena is the main stage for major concerts and sporting events. The Mardi Gras Theatre regularly features comedy shows and soul sessions, and the Festival Lawns have hosted events from motorsport festivals to concerts.

Carnival City has plenty for younger guests: an arcade, laser tag, a Grand Prix kart circuit, a Ster-Kinekor cinema and ten pin bowling for the whole family.

Trained childminders look after children at the Kidzone crèche while parents enjoy their own entertainment.

Conference and Venue Hire

Carnival City is near O.R. Tambo International Airport, which makes it a cost-effective multi-venue conference and banqueting destination in Gauteng. Several venues can host corporate seminars and functions, banquets, exhibitions, fashion shows, product launches and team-building events.

Half-day and full-day conferencing packages are offered. The venues have audio-visual equipment and on-site catering, and the 4-star hotel can accommodate out-of-town delegates. The on-site conference and banqueting teams help with arrangements.

Hotel at Carnival City

The 4-star Carnival City Hotel has comfortable modern rooms, conference facilities and an outdoor swimming pool. It is set alongside the Carnival City casino and near East Rand Mall. It is also close to OR Tambo International Airport, which suits both delegates and holidaymakers flying in from outside Johannesburg.
