It combines a casino, several hotels, a wave-pool water park, the Gary Player Country Club and Animal World in one bushveld setting. About Sun City
Sun City sits deep in the African bushveld, in the North West province (see our North West online casinos guide). It was South Africa’s first city of entertainment, built by Sol Kerzner in what was then the Republic of Bophuthatswana, north-west of Johannesburg. Before 1979, South Africans crossed the border to Lesotho to gamble. Sun City brought a Vegas-style resort much closer to home.
Today it works as a full holiday destination. Some guests come for the gaming alone, others for the water park, the golf or the nearby game reserve. Families, couples and groups all find something to do.
Is there a Sun City online casino?
Sun City is a land-based casino resort, and this page covers the resort itself. Sun International, which operates Sun City, has an online betting brand called SunBet. It launched in 2013 for sports betting, and a later news post on SunBet describes it as a member of Sun International offering both land-based and online play.

Valley of the Waves
The Valley of the Waves is the water park most closely linked with Sun City. It is a human-made beach with a roaring lagoon, a very large wave pool with hydraulic machinery that makes big waves. Day visitors and resort guests can both use it. There are designated areas for children, and lifeguards are on duty.
The Temple of Courage
The Temple of Courage is for thrill seekers. A steep, long slide sends riders under a bridge and into a small pool. Body slides and tube rides are there for those with no fear.
For something gentler, the Valley of the Waves also has relaxing corners. The Bridge of Time erupts with a dramatic display of vibrations that recalls a volcano about to blow.
Gary Player Country Club and Animal World
Golfers can play at The Gary Player Country Club. Animal World is a good option for families who want a break from the water park and the casino.

Getting There
You can fly directly to Pilanesberg International Airport (NTY) from Cape Town and Johannesburg. Some visitors take a bus from Johannesburg, and self-driving is always an option. Sun City is a 15-minute drive from the airport, and shuttles can be pre-arranged for collection and departure.
The game reserve is next to Pilanesberg International Airport. It is a popular alternative for nature lovers who want guided tours and a break from the fast pace of the resort.
