3 Kingdoms – Battle of Red Cliffs Slot Review

3 Kingdoms – Battle of Red Cliffs is a 5×3 video slot with 25 paylines from Pragmatic Play, with a theoretical RTP of 96.50%. It is built around a famous battle from Ancient China and offers a choice of free spins modes, stacked General symbols and the Spoils of War progressive feature.

The game is based on one of the most famous battles in the history of Ancient China, fought in the winter of 208 AD near the end of the Han Dynasty. On the reels it becomes an adventure of victory and loss, with free spins, stacked symbols and a progressive bonus game.

3 Kingdoms – Battle of Red Cliffs Specs

RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure that says nothing certain about a single session. Read more in our guide to what RTP means.

Paylines and How Wins Form

All symbols pay from left to right on adjacent reels, starting with the leftmost reel. Pick your bet from the range above and spin across all 25 paylines.

Symbols and the Three Generals

There are 12 standard symbols in the game. The three highest-valued are the 3 Generals, and they are the only symbols that can appear stacked. Only 2 of these symbols are needed for a payout when they land on reels 1 and 2.

The other symbols are iconic images from the Battle of Red Cliffs, together with the card symbols from the Ace down to the 9.

Wild Symbol

The Wild replaces all other game symbols when it can complete a winning combination on an active payline. It does not replace the Scatter.

Scatter and Battle of Red Cliffs Free Spins

Land 3 Scatters anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 to activate the Free Spins bonus round. You then choose one of three options:

• Vanity: 20 free spins with an additional Wild on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
• Intrigue: 10 free spins with 2 additional Wilds on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.
• All Out War: 5 free spins with 3 additional Wilds on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The free spins can be reactivated in the same way as the original trigger, and you receive the same number of spins and features as the option you first chose.

Spoils of War Progressive Feature

In the base game, a counter at the top of the screen tracks every spin on which all 3 Generals appear on the reels. The prize value starts at zero and increases by 2% for every bet you play. When the counter reaches 40, you get a chance to win the progressive jackpot through the Spoils of War bonus game.

In that bonus game you pick 1 of 8 envelopes to reveal a multiplier ranging from 2X to 100X.

Our Verdict

3 Kingdoms – Battle of Red Cliffs stacks Wilds and the 3 General symbols across the reels. The choice of free spins modes lets you pick between more spins or more Wilds, and the Spoils of War feature adds a progressive bonus with a multiplier of up to 100X. Try it in demo mode first if you want to see how the features behave.
