Secret Of Dead – Online Slot By Play’n GO

Secret of Dead is an ancient Egyptian video slot from Play’n GO with 6 reels, 3 rows, 10 fixed paylines and a theoretical RTP of 96.20%. A jewelled ankh works as both Wild and Scatter, and the bonus round adds expanding symbols. Read on for the specs, symbols and features before you play.

We all know the Book of Dead, the book Cat Wilde pieced back together after discovering missing pages. Secret of Dead goes back to the age of queen Shai to uncover some of the mysteries within those pages.

Secret of Dead Slot Specs

RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure, so it says nothing certain about any single session. See our explainer on what RTP means.

Egyptian Theme, Graphics and Sound

Ancient Egypt is a crowded theme, and Secret of Dead looks and feels much like many similar titles. The art is gorgeous, but it is not very different from what Play’n GO has done before, so it will feel familiar if you play this genre often.

The audio and animations are good. A slight dust cloud drifts along the bottom of the grid, the reels spin smoothly and symbols come to life on winning spins. Pillars run down the temple and riches sparkle in the dim light. The chamber could well be the one Cat Wilde visits in The Lost Chapter.

Symbols and Paytable

The low-paying icons are the playing card values 10, J, Q, K and A. The higher-paying symbols come from queen Shai’s world: an asp, a scarab, a sphinx cat and Shai herself.

A jewelled ankh is the Wild Scatter. It substitutes for any other symbol to build bigger combinations or start new ones, and landing three or more in a single spin activates the bonus feature.

Grid, Paylines and Bets

Secret of Dead is played on 6 reels and 3 rows with 10 fixed paylines. You can adjust the coin value and coins per spin, and bets range from 0.01 to 2.

Bonus Spins and Expanding Symbols

Land three or more Scatters to trigger the bonus. Landing three or more Scatters again during the feature awards additional spins.

During the bonus spins, a symbol is chosen at random to become an expanding symbol. Retriggering the feature adds another expanding symbol, up to a maximum of 9. If Shai becomes the expanding symbol, she pays double.

Gamble Feature

After a win you can gamble it by guessing either the colour of a face-down card or its suit. A correct suit guess pays more than a correct colour guess.

Our Verdict

Secret of Dead is a solid, familiar Egyptian slot. If you enjoy the genre and like expanding-symbol bonus rounds, it is worth a spin. If you want something visually different, you may find it ordinary.
