There are an extremely limited amount of things that people are willing to risk their life and limbs for, love is one, gold and jewels are another. One thing that is at the top of that list for one particular dwarf, and maybe even a lot of us, is the perfect beer recipe. Perfecting the ultimate brew is something that many of us might consider worthy of our blood, sweat, and tears.
Online video slot game developer Nolimit City is known for making gritty, and at times horrific, looking slot games so it’s nice to see them take a slight step back with this one. It still comes with the stock standard grit but you won’t be seeing anything gruesome.
Be sure to follow our safety guide to make sure that you know what to do in certain situations like, for example when dynamite lands and blasts your grid. We’ll also make sure you’re informed about all the bonus features, extras, and symbols.
In Search Of The Perfect Brew
You need to be willing to search high above the clouds as well as deep below the Earth, and it’s the latter in which we find ourselves. The title loads up with a slow, drumming beat that puts you in the mood to mine for the ultimate drink.
You will be deep in the mine already with lanterns lit next to barrels of tools and powder for blasting. A railway track leads off into the dark distance. The play area has four iron beams that intersect and form a square, cutting off the rest of the grid. Landing dynamite Wilds will cause the play area to expand within the grid itself.
There are no persistent animations which is a bit of a shame but it isn’t a game-breaker, they would’ve gone a long way to making the game feel more alive. The animations that are present in this title are pretty good, dynamite explodes smoothly and the symbols fall into place without any stutters or lag.
The blasting of the reels is satisfying enough that you’ll want to keep playing. When certain bombs land in the centre of the grid, an extra-large explosion occurs which is fun.
This game feels distinctly Nolimit while not being too in your face about how edgy it’s trying to be. It’s a nice break from NoLimit’s usual game offerings. Should you come across this title while browsing an online casino establishment and you feel like blasting away at a grid, give this one a try.
What To Look For In The Rock
When you first start destroying rock you’ll notice symbols falling onto the grid. Let’s go over those symbols now.
We’ll begin with the low-paying images first. These are all represented by playing card values. Expect to see 10, J, Q, K, and A dropping on the grid fairly frequently.
Next up are the high-paying symbols. Represented by what you’d probably stumble across in a mineshaft, be on the lookout for a smoking pipe, a compass, a bottle of whiskey, a rat, and our dwarven miner himself.
xBomb Wilds will not only substitute for any other common icon in the game, allowing for bigger wins but they will also explode, removing surrounding symbols so new ones can fall in. If they explode near the edge of the grid, the grid will expand in the direction of the xBomb.
Two types of Scatters are present within this title. A Scatter and a Super Scatter. The regular Scatter is represented by an “S” icon whereas the Super Scatter is represented by a golden minecart. Landing enough of these will trigger a bonus gameplay feature but they also have another effect. If there are less than 3 Scatters on the board, no win has occurred, and there aren’t any xBomb Wilds present, the Scatters will transform into bombs, destroying surrounding symbols and pushing out the grid. The multiplier will also be increased by 1.
The Way Of The Mine
This online release from Nolimit starts off initially as a 3×3 cascading video slot but has the potential to expand into a 7×7 cascading grid. The theoretical return to player rate is roughly 96.09% with a very high volatility rating. As a 3×3 there are 27 ways to win, with the number of ways increasing as the grid expands, eventually reaching 823 543 ways to win. Bets can range from between 0.20 – 100 coins per spin with the highest win obtainable being 70,000x the base bet.
How The Mine Works
Each time a winning combination of symbols lands on the grid, the winning icons will be removed to allow more to fall in their place. The avalanche feature will also trigger when bomb symbols remove symbols from the grid.
There are two ways to trigger bonus spins. You can either land 3 Scatters or 1 – 2 Super Scatters. When the Misery Freespins feature triggers, you’ll be given a 3×3, 4×4, or a 5×5 grid to play on immediately. Before the reels start spinning, you’ll need to choose either Mouse spins or Rat spins.
Initially, in Mouse spins, 8, 10, or 12 bonus spins will be awarded while landing additional Super Scatters will give you an extra +2 bonus spins.
In Rat spins, you’ll be given 3 bonus spins. Should you land coin wagons or Super Scatters, your spins will reset to 3.
During either bonus spin feature, the top row will reveal enhancers that will assist your extra symbol drops. Special images will appear in the top row and then apply various bonuses depending on which image appeared and was activated.
- Coin Wagons: Will add their value to collectors, updating the total win.
- Multiplier: Will increase the various multipliers that are active during the bonus round.
- Bombs: This will add bombs to the reels, removing symbols and further opening the grid.
- Bag: This will collect the value of all Scatters and collectors.
- Many more collector and bonus enhancer symbols are available in the title waiting to drop down onto the grid.
Finally Sitting Down With A Cold One
After all is said and done, this dwarf will finally be able to sit down with the ale that he’s been craving for so long. If you’d like to see what else developer Nolimit City has on offer, we suggest taking a look at Punk Toilet, no we didn’t make a typo, that’s actually the name of the game.
