Jewel Strike Slot Review

Jewel Strike is a slot game by software provider Blueprint Gaming. Set against a backdrop of a dark field and a clouded sky, the reels feature nothing other than what the name would suggest – jewels. They’re bright and colorful and come in different shapes, just as any jewels should. However, the graphics don’t seem to impress and that’s to say the least.

We’ve seen some very decent games by this developer before, but this one just doesn’t appear to meet the standard. Be that as it may, however, there are still some things to like about this particular jewel-themed slot game.

Epic Spins & Sparkling Wins

Jewel Strike features a classic video slot machine layout of 5 reels and 3 rows. There are 10 paylines and total and those are not subject to alteration. The symbols include the regular playing card symbols A, K, Q, J and 10.

The higher paying symbols on the reels are four different jewels that come in different colors: red, blue, green and yellow. This game doesn’t have a Wild symbol, like most other slot do. As a matter of fact, there are no Scatters or Bonus symbols either. However, it has two other different features to make up for it.

Jewel Strike Bonus Features

First is the Colossal Reel feature. It’s a random feature that can appear at any point during the game. One of the symbols will appear to take up 3 whole consecutive reels, guaranteeing a win on every payline.

Next is the Epic Spins feature, which players may activate whenever they so choose. The respective button is at their disposal just below the reels. This in fact means multiplying your total bet by a certain amount, in exchange for which lower value symbols are eliminated from the reels. There are three options: 5x your bet, 10x your bet and 20x your bet. These will result in eliminating first 10, J and Q from the reels. After this K and A will join that list respectively, depending on the amount you choose.

The End Result

Jewel Strike doesn’t bedazzle visually and doesn’t have a whole lot of exciting bonus features to offer either. However, the Epic Spins together with the random Colossal Reel feature can turn out to be rather lucrative. For example, covering the screen with the yellow jewel can grant you 5,000x your line bet.
