Theme, Graphics and Sound
The theme is medieval fantasy: a dragon queen, a castle surrounded by lava, a rival castle in the distance and a dungeon below the keep. Fire-breathing dragons do battle in the skies above the castle and in the pits below.
The presentation is dark, both in tone and visually. The graphics show their age and there is a lot going on at once, which can feel busy when you first start. The ambient audio and the spinning-reel sounds suit the mood, though the triumphant trumpet on winning spins feels a little out of place. If graphics are not a deal breaker, it is worth a look on a fun account first.
Symbols and Paytable Basics
Twelve symbols appear: ten on the common paytable and two specials.
- Low-paying: card values 9, 10, J, Q, K and A, with K and A paying the most of that group.
- High-paying: four dragons, Golden, Red, Blue and Black. The Black Dragon pays the most of the common symbols.
- Wild: the Queen substitutes for any other common symbol and can extend existing wins. A win that includes the Wild is doubled.
- Bonus: the Dragon’s Throne.
Features: A Dance With Dragons
The bonus is triggered when the same dragon lands on the centre row of reel 1 and reel 5 while the Dragon’s Throne lands on reel 3. The Throne only appears on reel 3 if a dragon is centred on reel 1.
The dragon from reels 1 and 5 becomes yours and appears in 3D on the right, with the opponent on the left. Each dragon has a set number of hit points. After each spin, a win means your dragon damages the opponent, and no win means your dragon takes damage. You must win 4 fights, each against a stronger dragon, and some hit points are restored after each victory.
Bonus spins continue until you beat all four dragons or yours is defeated. If yours falls, you get a x1 multiplier for each of the opponent’s remaining hit points. If you survive the gauntlet, you get a x2 multiplier for each of your dragon’s remaining hit points.
Separately, a progressive jackpot can be won randomly at the end of any spin.

Our Verdict
The visuals are dated, but the dragon-duel bonus is unusual and the progressive jackpot adds an extra chance on every spin. Worth trying on a fun account first.
