Theme, Graphics and Sound

The slot takes place in the world of Camelot and King Arthur. It does not focus on Arthur himself, but the characters come straight from the legend. Morgana has turned the game area into a frozen wasteland.

When the game loads you get a cinematic that plays out almost like a comic book, with animated panels telling the story so far. In the game itself you stand at the entrance to the icy castle. Gentle snowfall contrasts with the spiky chains that hold the grid in place, and two sconces at the bottom left and right of the grid keep their flames alive against the cold.

The graphics and animation are superb, and the audio gets the same care: voice-acted characters, a fitting soundtrack and well-chosen sound effects.

Symbols and Paytable Basics

The low-paying symbols are playing card values with an icy twist: 10, J, Q, K and A. The high-paying symbols are the items Merlin and Morgana use against each other: a ring, a cauldron, a tome and Merlin himself.

A Wild substitutes for any common icon, which helps you build combinations or extend existing ones. Morgana is a multiplier Wild if she lands stacked on a reel, with a multiplier from x2 to x8. Merlin’s staff is the Scatter, and it also acts as a Wild.

Bonus Spins and Expanding Symbols

Land 3 Scatters in a single base-game spin and you are awarded 10 bonus spins. Landing 3 more Scatters during the feature re-triggers them.

During the bonus spins, Merlin uses his magic to pick one symbol at random as a special expanding icon. If it lands, it expands to fill the entire reel. When enough expanding symbols land, the expanding Morgana Wild can substitute for one of them.

You can adjust the coin value and the coins per spin, and the 10 paylines are fixed.

Our Verdict

A well-presented fantasy slot with a simple 10-line layout, a stacked multiplier Wild and an expanding-symbol bonus round. If you like a story-led theme and a feature that builds on a single chosen symbol, it is worth a spin.
