Odin, the Allfather of Norse mythology, is an intimidating and powerful figure that is known to, on occasion. bless those that seek his favour. By giving up an offering and lending your voice to give him praise you might just gain an audience with him.
Video slot releases set within the Norse pantheon are nothing new, but developer Thunderkick has decided to give it their all and try anyway. These types of games are going the way of ancient Egyptian-themed titles in the sense that you’ll soon be spoilt for choice, what has this producer done to make their title stand out amongst the rest?
Read on as we outline everything that you need to know going into this game. We’ll make sure that you’re up to date with all the bonuses, extras, features, symbols, and all the little details.
Theme & Symbols
When the game opens up and you’re given the controls, you’ll find yourself standing next to a root of Yggdrasil, the World Tree. They really throw you into the thick of it right away. A little further ahead you’ll make out what looks to be a shrine dedicated to Mimir’s Well.
The animations are what you’ll probably be drawn to immediately. Fires burn and dance in their sconce, a wild moose grazes away at the fresh green grass and a shimmer of light glints across the title. There has been a lot of work poured into this game and it really shows.
The music that plays doesn’t really add much to the game, you could mute it and it would feel about the same. It’s not bad but it also isn’t memorable. The same can be said for the sound effects, while the anticipation effects are nice, that’s all there really is to it. You’ll hear the occasional caw of a crow every now and then which is a nice touch.
The grid is nothing special, it’s basic which is fine. The play area isn’t bad by any stretch but it’s just so plain. You’ll be forgiven for forgetting what it all looked like after closing the title.
Overall, this is a fairly average looking game from this producer. There’s not enough that’s been added that would want to make you play it over the many other Norse-themed titles. If you like the genre then this might be for you, otherwise, we’ve seen better from Thunderkick.
For the low-paying symbols, we have playing card values. Prepare to see 9, 10, J, Q, K, and A appear quite often on the reels as you play.
Next are the higher-paying images, represented by various icons that represent the pantheon. A horn, Odin’s necklace, a ring, two ravens, and Odin himself are all the ones that you’ll want to fall on your grid and form a combination.
A spherical rune is the Wild for this game. The Wild will substitute for any other common icon in the game, allowing you to build bigger winning combos of entirely new ones. In addition to that, they also carry x2 multipliers.
A Nordic carving is the title’s Scatter. Land enough Scatters during a single spin and you’ll trigger the bonus gameplay feature.
