Nuwa – Online Slot By Habanero Systems

Nuwa is a Chinese-mythology video slot from Habanero Systems with 5 reels, 3 rows, 28 fixed pay lines and a theoretical RTP of 98%. The snake goddess is the expanding Wild, and collecting elemental orbs in the bonus spins unlocks a boosted Bonus Feature. Read on for the specs, symbols and features before you play.

Nuwa, the snake-like goddess who created humanity, commands the elements. Collect them in the bonus round and more of the game’s features open up. If she lands on the reels as part of a win, she grows in size and tries to create an even bigger win for you.

Nuwa Slot Specs

The RTP is a theoretical, long-run figure, so it says nothing certain about any single session. For more on how this works, see our explainer on what RTP means.

Theme, Graphics and Sound

Nuwa’s domain is a misty mountain peak where rocks and boulders float mysteriously. Trees rooted in rock hang in mid-air, a split waterfall flows from one boulder and forms a misty cloud, and leaves race off in the wind while the clouds move to their own rhythm. The background animations are excellent.

The audio is calm and relaxed, and the music picks up in intensity when a big enough win lands. If you would rather listen to your own music, there is a mute option. The artwork is simple but pulls the whole game together.

If you enjoy Chinese mythology, or just want a relaxing slot, try it first on a fun account to get a feel for how it plays.

Symbols and Paytable Basics

Eleven icons can appear on the grid. Two are special and nine are common paying icons.

• Low-paying symbols: Pink, Green, Orange, Red and Blue elemental orbs. The Blue water orb pays the most of this set.
• High-paying symbols: an Orange Flower, Green Bamboo, a Red Flower and a Pink Flower. The Pink Flower is the highest-paying common icon.
• Wild: Nuwa herself. In the base game she appears only on reels 1 and 3, and if she forms part of a win she expands to take up the entire reel.
• Scatter: the snake. Three or more trigger the bonus spins.

Grid, Pay Lines and Bets

The game is played on 5 reels and 3 rows with 28 fixed pay lines. The theoretical RTP of 98% is very high for an online slot, and the volatility is high too, so expect a heart-racing ride.

Bets vary in two ways. The coin value ranges from 0.01 to 5 coins per spin, and the bet level ranges from 1 to 10.

Bonus Spins and the Bonus Feature

Three or more Scatters anywhere on the grid award 8 bonus spins. The Wild still appears only on reels 1 and 3 during the bonus spins. Any of the five low-paying elemental orbs that land are collected, and once all 5 have been collected the Bonus Feature activates.

During the Bonus Feature, an extra 5 bonus spins are added to the ones you have left. On every spin the Wild is guaranteed to appear twice, and any win during these spins is doubled.

Our Verdict

Nuwa pairs a very high theoretical RTP with a layered bonus system and polished presentation. The volatility is high, so set your budget before you spin and treat wins as a bonus rather than an expectation.
