Theme & Symbols

The old Egyptian imagery is strong in this title, it’s all reflected in the background, the symbols and the music.

The play grid is made of stone bricks placed in the centre of an ancient tomb. Flanking the grid on the left and on the right are two impressive statues and just behind the grid lies the rest of the temple. The iconography used is extremely Egyptian, no reimaginings here whatsoever. It’s worth noting that we experienced a glitch where the background failed to load in. The game played fine and the symbols appeared where they had to.

The music in this title is good, it feels like it should be here. While it can tend to get a little repetitive it’s still a nice touch. The sound effects are okay, they don’t really feel like they fit into the overall aesthetic of the title.

Animations are good, the reels spin smoothly and unfortunately there is minimal animation on the symbols during winning spins.

Symbols

To start, the low-paying icons are represented by playing card values. You’ll see J, Q, K and A appearing often and in a nice ancient Egyptian font.

Next up are the high-paying symbols and those are represented by a Wadjet, an Osiris Cross, a Cat and a Sarcophagus.

There is a Wild Symbol in this title that is represented by a Scarab Beetle. This icon can substitute any other basic icon in the game. They also play a part in triggering one of the game’s bonus features.
