Betway Summer Cup 2025 Returns With New Promos

The 2025 Betway Summer Cup, one of Johannesburg’s most prominent racing events, is set to take place on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at the historic Turffontein Racecourse. Known as The People’s Race, the Summer Cup has long been a highlight on Gauteng’s sporting and social calendar, attracting racing fans, fashion followers and large event crowds each year.

Event Overview and Key Venue

The Summer Cup traces its roots back to Johannesburg’s early years, with the first organised race in the city held in 1886. Over time, the event evolved into the modern Summer Cup format, with Betway becoming the title sponsor in 2022.

The race takes place at Turffontein Racecourse, established in 1892 and regarded as one of South Africa’s premier Thoroughbred racing venues. The course is known for its challenging layout, including the uphill stretch from the 1200-metre mark to the final bend. Throughout the year, Turffontein also hosts major fixtures such as the Triple Crown, Triple Tiara, Computaform Sprint and several leading Grade 1 mile events.

Tickets for the 2025 Summer Cup are already available through Ticketpro, with general admission starting from R100.
