Theme and Graphics: A Snow-Covered Town

Snow falls gently in the background, and all of the symbols, even the low-paying ones, have a festive twist. It is a nice touch that helps the title channel that holiday feeling.

The level of detail in each symbol is excellent. Whenever a winning spin lands, the icons spring up and off the grid. The white background makes the colours stand out, and even when the background changes during bonus spins, the icons still stand on their own.

Symbols: Presents Under the Tree

Jolly Old Saint Nick is the Wild symbol. When he appears, he substitutes for any other common icon in the game.

A Christmas Tree Snow Globe is the Bonus Symbol. Hitting three of them during a single spin awards a spin of Santa’s Wheel.

A special Star Symbol can also land on the reels. When a Star appears, it is collected above the reel it landed on, which feeds the 10-spin cycle explained below.

The remaining icons on the pay table are 10, J, Q, K, A, a Candle, a Candycane, a Christmas Sock, Bells and a Snowman.

How the Game Works: Reels, Pay Lines and the 10-Spin Cycle

You play on a grid of 5 reels and 3 rows with 40 fixed pay lines in play. The theoretical RTP is 94%, with a medium to high volatility rating. RTP is a long-run theoretical figure and does not guarantee any result in a session.

The game works on a 10-spin cycle. On the 10th spin of a cycle, every reel that has collected 2 Star Symbols above it receives a stacked Santa Wild. After the 10th spin, the cycle starts over.

Santa’s Wheel Bonus and Free Spins

Landing 3 bonus symbols during a single spin activates Santa’s Wheel, where you spin a wheel for prizes. The prizes are:

• Mini Jackpot
• Major Jackpot
• Grand Jackpot
• 5 Free Spins with 3 Wild Reels
• 8 Free Spins with 2 Wild Reels
• 12 Free Spins with 1 Wild Reel

During the free spins, the Wild Reel is a fully stacked Wild that moves around on every spin. A special Golden Bonus Symbol is also active, and landing just 1 of them triggers the prize wheel again. The prizes this time are:

• Mini Jackpot
• Major Jackpot
• Grand Jackpot
• 3 extra free spins
• 5 extra free spins
• 8 extra free spins

Is Santa’s Wild Reels Worth Playing?

If you want some Christmas fun this holiday season, or at any other time of the year, this festive slot is worth a spin, especially in demo mode first. The medium to high volatility means results can swing, so set a budget before you play.
