Playson Expands in South Africa With Hollywoodbets Deal

Playson has expanded its presence in South Africa through a new partnership with Hollywoodbets, which will bring a selection of the supplier’s Hold and Win titles to players in the country’s regulated market.

The integration will take place through Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform and will initially cover six Playson releases. The first group includes Coin Strike: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins XXL: Hold and Win, Diamonds Power: Hold and Win, Energy Coins: Hold and Win and 3 Carts of Gold: Hold and Win.

Additional titles are expected to be introduced as the agreement develops.

Six Hold and Win titles lead initial rollout

The partnership gives Hollywoodbets access to a group of games from one of Playson’s best-established product categories

Hollywoodbets is one of South Africa’s established betting and gaming brands and operates across multiple gaming verticals. The addition of Playson’s content expands the operator’s existing casino selection with titles already distributed across regulated markets.

Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform will provide the technical route for the rollout, allowing the selected games to become available through Hollywoodbets’ platform.

Deal follows further activity across African markets

The Hollywoodbets agreement forms part of a broader period of activity for Playson in Africa.

During 2026, the supplier has signed several agreements aimed at extending the availability of its games across regulated markets in the region. The South African deal adds another established operator to that distribution network.

Playson has continued using operator partnerships and aggregation arrangements to extend the reach of its portfolio while maintaining a focus on regulated jurisdictions.

The latest agreement also places several Hold and Win releases at the centre of its South African rollout, reflecting the continued role of that game format within the supplier’s catalogue.

The six titles selected for the initial launch cover several variations of the mechanic , while future additions will broaden the selection available through Hollywoodbets.

4 Chili Pots joins Playson’s recent release schedule

Only days before announcing the Hollywoodbets partnership, Playson added another Hold and Win title to its portfolio with the release of 4 Chili Pots: Hold and Win on July 16.

The game uses a Mexican fiesta theme and is played on a 5×3 grid. Its gameplay combines Hold and Win and Pots mechanics with two main bonus modes and jackpot prizes of up to 10,000x.

Red, orange and green Chili Bonus symbols determine which features activate during the Hold and Win Bonus Game.

Red Chili Bonus symbols trigger the Multi Feature, which can place multipliers of up to 5x on empty positions or increase multipliers already attached to symbols.

Orange symbols activate the Mystery Feature and can award Mini, Minor or Major Jackpot values or random coin prizes worth up to 75x.

Green Chili Bonus symbols activate the Collect Feature, which gathers the values of symbols already present in play, including multipliers attached to coins or Chili Bonus symbols.

A golden Super Chili Bonus symbol can trigger the Super Bonus Game during the main game. This mode expands the grid to 5×5 and can activate Multi, Mystery or Collect Chili Features individually or in combination.

During the Super Bonus Game, the active feature continues adding Chili Bonus symbols until six are present. This can introduce another feature or enhance one already active.

Jackpot mechanics are available across both bonus modes. Filling all 15 positions in the standard Bonus Game awards the 3,000x Grand Jackpot, while filling all 25 cells in the Super Bonus Game awards the 10,000x Super Jackpot.

The game also includes skull-themed symbols that can transform into red, orange or green Chili Bonus symbols and influence the active bonus feature.

Two Buy Bonus options provide direct access to the Bonus Game or Super Bonus Game with one, two or three Chili Features, adding further variations to the title’s bonus structure.
