At The Festival
The game opens up and you find yourself standing in an old Japanese courtyard, trees growing happily on the left and a building with traditional architecture sits immovably down the centre in the background. To the right of the grid stands your selected date, who shifts from side to side in excitement. The detail of your chosen date is incredible, as she sways back and forth her hair will bounce, her clothes will move and whatever item she is holding will dance along with her.

Music and sound effects are something that this title does really well. While the game is idle, a low, calming traditional melody plays but the moment you hit the spin button, it all kicks off and the music gets louder and more intense. Get To Know Your Date
During the base game, there are thirteen symbols that will hopefully be landing on the grid. Eleven of them make up the common pay table whereas the other two are special symbols which will hopefully enhance the overall gameplay experience.
Starting off with the low-paying icons first, we have playing card values that have been given a wavy makeover. Expect to see 10, J, Q, K, and A appearing on the reels quite often. Of these low-paying images, the A is worth the most.
Next up, the high-paying images. These will vary during the base game depending on your currently selected date. You’ll want to watch out for images of your date with different-coloured cherry blossom borders. Those borders are blue, green, and red with the highest-paying images having a red border. These icons can also appear stacked.
The Wild will substitute for any other common icon in the game, allowing you to build winning combinations with ease or simply extend already existing winning combos.
Finally, for the base game, we have the Scatter. Should three of these symbols appear anywhere on the grid during a single spin, you’ll trigger the bonus spins gameplay feature.

- If Suzu is your date, then the feature that will activate is Shooting. When this feature triggers, a crosshair will appear on the grid. When the symbols stop spinning, the symbol in the crosshairs will transform into a Wild or a Scatter.
- Finally, if Yukata is your date, her Fortune feature might trigger randomly. If it does, and a Wild happens to be on screen it will attach itself to the Wild and reveal either a multiplier or hearts which will get added to the Kissing Booth meter.
Every so often, a heart symbol will appear on a stacked sister symbol during the base game. By collecting enough hearts to fill the meter that is near the bottom of the grid, the Kissing Booth feature will be activated.
If you are able to land 3 Scatters during a single spin, the bonus spins feature will activate. During these spins, a new icon can appear, that is the Fan. The Fan will serve as a Wild that can appear in various places around the grid while the reels are still busy spinning.
During the bonus spins feature, there is a chance to re-trigger the bonus spins as well. Whenever the Sakura Lamp lights up, it means that the feature will be re-triggered after the 8 current spins have finished.
