Gearing Up For The BiG Africa Betting & iGaming Summit 2024

For a decade now, the BiG Betting & iGaming Summit has been one of the most anticipated industry events on the continent. Inviting industry figureheads as guest speakers, the summit is a stage to meet and network with esteemed peers and individuals from all across the sector.

The event will showcase new technology and software solutions for online providers, developers, and punters alike, allowing us a glimpse into the not-too-distant future of the iGaming industry.

Since its inception, the summit has been integral to elevating and legitimizing the South African online gaming scene. This year’s summit marks its 10-year anniversary, proving the industry is here to stay.

When Is It Taking Place?

The BiG Africa Summit will take place from the 25th to the 27th of March at Emporer’s Palace in Johannesburg. The event officially kicks off at 17:00 with the BiG Pre-Event Welcoming Reception. This day is mostly dedicated to attendees exchanging contact information and business cards to set up potential meetings.

Day 2, the 26th, will start at 09:00 with registration and coffee, followed by opening remarks by the chairperson at 09:30. The keynote address will kick off at 09:45, with panel discussions taking place for most of the day until the 2024 BiG 5 Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner at 18:00.

The final day, the 27th, will start once again with registration and coffee, this time at 09:30. Various panel discussions will take place over the course of the day up until 15:45, with closing remarks from the chairperson and the BiG Networking Poker Tournament from 16:30.

What Are The BiG 5 Awards?

The BiG 5 Awards will see the top performers within the African iGaming scene recognized and honored for their contributions to the industry. The award categories are as follows:

The Lion Award – This award aims to nominate the top speaker.

The Rhino Award – This award will be presented to the longest-standing partner.

The Leopard Award – This award will be given to the exhibitor with the most visually appealing and impressive exhibition.

The Buffalo Award – This award will be received by the most competitive, resilient, and strongest company within the highly competitive industry.

The Elephant Award – This award will be awarded to the company that has made the largest contribution to the growth and development of the community.

In addition to the BiG 5 Awards, there are also nominations for the Women In Gaming Awards. These categories include Rising Star In Leadership, Innovation Queen Of Africa, Awareness Lioness, Champion of Growth, and The Spirit of Africa.
