Theme & Symbols

One of the things that this game does brilliantly is the music. Each world has its own musical theme that is different enough from the rest that it stands out while still following an overarching structure that the other music tracks follow as well. Sound effects are great as well, they are never too loud or distract you from the game and let you know something is happening.

Animations are nice and smooth. While there isn’t much animation going on with symbols on winning spins, world transitions, interactions and characters all move seamlessly. The same can be said for the reels, the symbols cascade down without any issue.

The artwork, symbol and character design are all fantastic. It’s a game that doesn’t take itself too seriously and the art style reflects that.

Symbols

There is no real low / high paying split in the symbols meaning that you’ll be seeing almost every symbol in the game quite often as you play. The shapes that you’ll be seeing are as follows: a Rectangle, a Triangle, a Square, a Pentagon, a Flower, a Crescent, a Heart and a Star.

There are four different Wilds in the game, each coming from a different world, depending on which one you’re in. The Sky Knight will occasionally drop two Shields that have a + x1 multiplier attached to it, they each also take up four spaces individually so this Wild is pretty mega. The next Wild comes from the Miner, these wilds can appear up to 10 at a time. The next Wild you’ll see is the Mirror from the Princesses world and can appear from one edge to another edge of the grid. Finally we have the Wizard’s Wild which is sticky and will remain on the grid until no more wins occur. Each wild substitutes for common symbols and will help build winning combos. Wilds appear randomly from the character associated with the world.

Landing a winning combos will cause the winning symbols to disappear into the Crystal Charge Meter and allow more symbols to fall in place.

25 winning symbols will fill the first half of the Crystal Charge Meter, when this happens one of four effects will trigger randomly, those effects are:

• Chain Lightning: Two corner symbols spark out an electrical arc that hits a number of symbols, transforming them into one of the corner symbols.
• Light Beam: Two light rays shine out vertically and horizontally from a symbol on the grid, each symbol caught in the light will transform into the same symbol.
• Crystal Warp: A single symbol is selected on the grid, all matching symbols are transformed into another symbol.
• Nova Blast: A symbol is chosen on the grid and an explosion emanates outwards from it, adjacent symbols, in a 7 symbol diameter, disappear leaving a core of uniform symbols left over while new symbols fall in.

If you manage to collect 50 winning symbols during a single spin then you’ll super charge the Crystal Charge Meter and trigger all four effects simultaneously with an added x2 multiplier!

In order to transition between worlds you’ll need to land winning combos on the designated pattern on the grid. Doing this twice will allow you to move on to the next world but not until you Pick A Pocket. This feature happens when moving between worlds, you’ll be asked to choose between two pockets, choose correctly and you’ll earn a world bonus. Completing the two patterns on the last world will loop you back to the first.
